ABOUT US

I, Abi Clarke am the Director of AC Weddings & Events. Born in Yorkshire and lived here until the age of 9 before moving to the beautiful and scenic, Isle of Skye where my grandparents lived. When I turned 17, I decided to take the big step and move to Aberdeen to study Creative Industries: Television at Aberdeen College. 

Shortly after, I met my husband who was in the year above me in college and since then I haven’t left Aberdeen! I progressed onto Robert Gordon University graduating with a BA (HONS) in Media Studies. I went onto work for 2 years with a local wedding videography company assisting with filming and editing before deciding to start my own business. 

My husband and I filmed and edited weddings for a numbers of years, in several locations and venues all across Scotland which included working with several different suppliers, styles and themes. As well as weddings which were small from 5-10 to large with over 200 guests, from castles to barns and international to broch weddings! 

We now have two young children called Robyn and Mikey. During my maternity leave, I set up a charity called MISS (Miscarriage Information Support Service) where we have a committee comprising of 7 members, monthly support groups, phone service and quarterly fundraising events. I have gained extensive event planning knowledge from this as well as learning to understand how to run a charity, budgeting and networking.

In 2019, I decided to take the plunge and start in wedding planning. An exciting new venture which with my wedding knowledge, understanding of bride and grooms as well as good connections in the local area and with suppliers I felt that this is a great step forward. 

My passions are being organised, socialising with friends and connecting with new contacts, keeping fit, family days out and reading by book with a gin!
